Welding, cutting, and brazing are different hot work techniques used to bond, cut, solder, or form metals at high temperatures. Specific precautions must be taken during this high-hazard work to prevent personal injury and workplace damage. Anyone involved in these hotwork professions – employers, employees, and supervisors – should be aware of OSHA welding safety regulations in order to elimitate or control hazards that they or others around them may be exposed to.
This course provides general information on the various hazards related to welding and other hotwork, and the OSHA techniques and requirements used to protect workers. At the completion of this course, the student should be able to understand welding, cutting and brazing regulations, recognize associated hazards and understand how to implement OSHA safety standards to mitigate these hazards in your workplace.
