Electrical hazards are one of the most common dangers encountered in the workplace that also may be one of the more misunderstood. This online course will instruct the learner on the industry standard for electrical safety written by the National Fire Protection Association – NFPA 70E – and will also provide important background for understanding how to identify and protect yourself from the variety of electrical hazards that can present themselves on a job site.
This professionally narrated, interactive course is written and developed by David Carpenter, who has a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Carpenter currently serves as Principal (voting member) to NFPA 79 Industrial Machines, and NFPA 790 & 791. David started his career as an apprentice electrician, journeyman, master to inspector and engineer. David is Chief Electrical Inspector for City of Florence Alabama (30 years), has served as past chairman of the Alabama Association of Electrical Inspectors, past chairman of the Alabama Electrical Contractors board, has served on codes and standards committees that include NFPA, OSHA, NEIS, and IEEE for the past 28 years and currently serves as the principal of Integrity Institute; that specializes in research, development, testing, training, engineering, inspection, codes and standards.
