Competent Person Forklift Safety Course

eTraining’s Forklift Training for the Competent Person Course takes all of the information covered in our Forklift Safety Course, and expands on it to include knowledge and training on the duties and responsibilities of the competent person working on job sites with forklift activities.

OSHA requires that a competent person be a part of every job site. With this Forklift Competent Person Certification, you are helping your employer to satisfy this requirement, while making yourself a more valuable member of your team.

This course has been developed directly from the OSHA standard for forklift safety – 29 CFR 1910.178. It includes training for those individuals operating fork trucks, platform lift trucks, motorized hand trucks, and other specialized industrial trucks powered by electric motors or internal combustion engines.

Please note: This course does not provide a license to operate a forklift, this would necessitate physical, hands-on instruction. This course is designed to provide an understanding of forklift safety, based on the OSHA standard.

We also offer a Forklift Safety Training Course that is intended more for the general site worker and forklift operator than a competent person or supervisor.

Course Details

This course is approximately 4 hours in length, with an exam at the end. Once you pass the exam with a score of 70% or better, you can print your personalized certificate right from your computer, or download it as a PDF.
