The Hazard Recognition in Construction Environments course is an online safety training program that teaches construction workers how to identify workplace hazards before accidents occur. The course covers different types of hazards, the difference between hazardous conditions and unsafe acts, how to identify hazards in advance and in real time, and how to investigate accidents and near misses.

The course takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete. It is fully self-paced, so you can pause and resume at your convenience. You have 6 months from enrollment to finish. Progress saves automatically on the same device.
The course covers the need for hazard recognition, hazardous conditions versus unsafe acts, identifying hazards in advance through inspections and job hazard analysis, real-time hazard recognition during active work, investigating accidents and near misses, and procedures for controlling identified hazards on the job site.
Yes. Upon passing the final exam with a score of 70% or higher, you can immediately print a certificate of completion. This certificate serves as proof of training for your employer.

No. This course provides a printable certificate of completion. It does not include a Department of Labor (DOL) or OSHA card. DOL/OSHA cards are issued only with OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour Outreach Training courses.
This Hazard Recognition course is a focused, approximately 1-hour training on how to identify and respond to workplace hazards. OSHA 10-Hour Construction is a broader 10-hour program covering multiple safety topics including the OSHA Focus Four hazards, worker rights, and employer responsibilities. Hazard recognition is one topic within the larger OSHA 10-Hour curriculum.
