Foot Protection Training or the Full PPE Course?

What OSHA 1910.136 Requires for Foot Protection

29 CFR 1910.136 names the hazards that call for protective footwear and the standards that footwear has to be built to. Foot Protection Safety covers both halves.

  • Falling and rolling objects. Paragraph 1910.136(a) names falling and rolling objects first. The course covers impact and compression hazards and the footwear rated for them.
  • Objects piercing the sole. The same paragraph covers objects piercing the sole. The course covers penetration hazards such as nails, scrap metal and sharp debris.
  • Electrical hazards that remain. Paragraph 1910.136(a) also covers electrical hazards left after other measures, including static discharge. The course covers electrical hazard and conductive footwear.
  • Footwear built to a standard. Paragraph 1910.136(b)(1) accepts footwear built to ASTM F-2412-2005 and F-2413-2005, or ANSI Z41-1999 or Z41-1991. The course covers what those ratings mean when buying.

    I thought the was course was very informative, and to the point. Much like the helmet and glove tutorials, I feel like these courses could use some music. and have a narrator that’s not so monotone. I about feel asleep during them. Yeah these courses are short. but not very rememberable.
