Forklift certification under OSHA regulations is valid for 3 years from the date of the most recent evaluation. After 3 years, operators must undergo refresher training and a new performance evaluation. Recertification may also be required sooner if the operator is involved in an accident, observed operating unsafely, the workplace conditions change, or they are assigned a different type of forklift.
