2008 NEC Code Changes: Article 215 – Article 250, Overcurrent Protection & Grounding

The National Electrical Code® has been extensively revised for 2008, and contains a lot of new information to digest. This 2-hour interactive online course is intended to familiarize the reader with some of the major changes contained in the 2008 NEC®, and is suitable for anyone exposed to the NEC at any level. More changes are covered in our other NEC courses, which have been broken down into palatable 2-hour doses. The Code revisions we will address apply to all types of occupancies: residential, commercial, and industrial. In this course – the second of four, we will go over Article 215 – Feeders; Article 240 – Overcurrent Protection, and Article 250 – Grounding and Bonding.   • Discuss how and why New Exception No. 2 in the Feeders section permits a grounded conductor that is not connected to an overcurrent device to be sized based on 100% of the continuous and non-continuous load
  • Discuss the new provision for feeder taps in Section 240.92(B), Supervised Industrial Installations (Part VIII), Location in Circuit Feeder Taps
  • Recall some of the many modifications that affect grounding and bonding practices and are detailed in various sections of Article 250
